A good video from the 9-12 march in DC. The Tea Party people would get more support if they had a real message. This video shows that they don’t really have a unified message and to top it off, they don’t even really know why they are upset.
I’m not really a big fan of NPR but they had an article yesterday about Rev. Chester Cook who is the chaplain at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This guy is an example of how religion is supposed to work. And an example of why I’ve never really been a fan of organized religion, if there were more people like him then maybe I would like it. This guy doesn’t care about the materialistic things others do. He doesn’t care what faith someone else is, he just cares about helping others, the way god would. He shows that it’s possible to do good works and honor your faith without shoving it down other people’s throats.
Values that are applied with open heart and security in ones faith do far more for their faith, and others, than all the evangelizing and proselytizing. By living in their faith, and living to its promise, they will bring more to them, than all the folks who hold up signs and smugly tell folks how they’ll burn.
The article is a bit long so if you don’t have time then you can Listen to the Story here.
